Choosing a Healthy Eating Style

Tuesday, December 17, 2019

A new Department of Public Instruction video, Choosing a Healthy Eating Style, explores recommendations for healthy eating based on choosemyplate.gov guidelines.

The video breaks down the guidelines by food type, important nutrients from each food type, and what to watch out for when choosing foods. It promotes healthy eating styles, while providing instruction for middle and high school students on how to choose one, featuring MyPlate, school meals, and much more.

Students will also learn manageable shortcuts for healthier eating. If they don’t already, eating school lunch is one small change students can make that will help meet nutritional guidelines.

For more information about healthy eating styles that work for students and their families, visit the Choose My Plate website and the DPI Wisconsin Child Nutrition Programs web page.
