Administrative Rules Hearing – PI 34 (Educator licenses)

This hearing is to accept public testimony to consider the promulgation of administrative rules under the following statements of scope:

SS 038-24, on a permanent and emergency rule amending ch. PI 34, relating to bilingual-bicultural supplemental licenses.
SS 039-24, on a permanent administrative rule to amending ch. PI 34, relating to the out-of-state pathway for educator licensure.

As required in rulemaking, the Department will consider all testimony given at the preliminary hearing prior to drafting a proposed rule that will be submitted to the Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse. When a proposed rule is available for review, the department will conduct additional hearings to accept public testimony on the proposed rule.

The Department will hold the public hearing by teleconference only. Written comments received no later than the date of the hearing will be given the same consideration as testimony presented at the hearing.

A copy of the proposed rule is available on the department's Administrative Rules webpage or the Wisconsin Legislature Rules site. Written comments on the proposed permanent rule may be made via the Legislature’s form for submitting public comment.
