Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - OUTREACH


The Outreach Program supports children who are deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind by providing a broad array of services to families and educational programs.

The Outreach program can consult with school districts and Birth to 3 programs to evaluate and provide support for students who are deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind. The diverse team of specialists includes:

  • Diagnostic/Educational Specialist
  • Deafblind Coordinator
  • Birth to Six Services Coordinator
  • Speech-Language Consultant
  • Educational Audiology Consultant
  • School Psychology Consultant
  • Sign Communication Specialist
  • Transition Specialist

Programs of Outreach include:

  • Deaf Mentor Program
  • ASL Distance Learning Program
  • Guide-by-your-Side Program
  • Distant Pals (pen pals for students with hearing loss)
  • Teen Getaway Weekends
  • WISHES (Hearing Aid Loaner Program)
  • Career Day/College Fair
  • Annual Family Conference
  • ANNUAL Professional Conference, Skill building for Educational Interpreters, Trainings and Workshops
  • Wisconsin Deafblind Technical Assistance Program (WDBTAP)
