Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Grant Program


Program Description:
The Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) Grants administered by the department are administered through a competitive process. These grants appropriate state funds for the development or expansion of a district-wide, K-12 comprehensive program for the prevention of and intervention in alcohol and other drug abuse by children and youth (s.118.126, Stats).

A school district may propose to use multiple strategies in a coordinated, comprehensive manner to develop this program. The AODA program can include: curriculum and instruction, policy, extracurricular student programs, staff development, employee assistance and wellness programs, parent and community education, pupil services and school community coordination. Projects are funded for two years, with a renewal application process taking place at the end of the first year.

Who is Eligible to Apply:
Public school districts, Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs) or consortiums of schools.
