Sharing Information Across SystemsUpdated August, 2008 Sharing Information Across Systems summarizes the circumstances allowed for in statute, other than informed consent or court order, under which schools and other systems (i.e. law enforcement, the courts and juvenile justice, social services, health) can share confidential information. For each circumstance, a context, the provisions for disclosure, an example, and the applicable statutes are given. An appendix includes how to access the cited statutes. This resource is designed to help local school districts and their community partners develop local polices, procedures, and agreements regarding how they will share information across systems.
