Reporting SPR Data to DPI

COMPLETING THE SPECIAL EDUCATION REPORTS DUE ON JUNE 30, 2005

Files

Federal Discipline Report (formerly Unduplicated Count for Federal Reporting). Abbreviation: UND.

Interim Alternative Educational Setting (IAES) (formerly Unilateral Removal). Abbreviation: UNI.

Steps

Log in to the application using the district password.

If your district has nothing to report for either or both files:

  1. From the Welcome Page go to the District Administration Page.
  2. If you have no data to report for a file for the entire district, then click on the link to lock schools with no data to report (Row 4) in the appropriate column (UND or UNI). This will lock all schools for the district with no data to report.
  3. The screen will refresh and provide a link, "Lock and Submit to DPI." Click on that link to place the DPI level lock on the file.
  4. Repeat this process for the other file if there is nothing to report.

Note: Remember that once you lock and submit a file to DPI, only the DPI administrator can unlock the file. Please make sure that a file is complete before locking it.

If your district has data to report for one or both files:

  1. Choose "File Upload" or "On Line (Via Web)" from the Welcome Page.
  2. Upload the file or key in the data for each school.
  3. Lock the data for each school using the "LOCK DATA" button on the "On Line (Via Web)" form for each school. (If you have used "File Upload" you will need to switch to "On Line (Via Web)" to lock the data. This procedure has you review the data in the form before it is locked.)
  4. After each school is locked, go to the District Administration Page and click the link to lock schools with no data to report (Row 4) for that report.
  5. The screen will refresh and provide a link, "Lock and Submit to DPI." Click on that link to lock and submit the file.
  6. Repeat the process for the other file if necessary.

When you have locked and submitted both the UND and UNI files on the district administration page, you have completed reporting for the two files. Locking files is equivalent to mailing the files to DPI on disk under the old system.
