2001-02 Changes to the School Performance ReportFile Structures for the 2001-02 SPR Data Collection Beginning with the 2001-02 school year, the Department of Public Instruction revised the School Performance Report to incorporate changes in federal special education reporting requirements and simplify suspension reporting. A summary of each of the changes follows:
Change: IDEA Federal Discipline (Formerly Unduplicated Count for Federal Reporting)Two new data elements will be collected on the IDEA Federal Discipline report. The first new data element is the grade of the pupils being reported. The second new data element is the number of single suspensions and/or expulsions of more than ten days. There has also been a change in definition for the Unduplicated Count field. This field will now be an unduplicated count only of pupils who were suspended and/or expelled for more than ten days (single suspensions/expulsions and/or multiple short-term suspensions). Pupils who were removed to an IAES during the school year will not be included in this field as in the past. To summarize, the data collected on the IDEA Federal Discipline report are:

Districts will no longer have to record and report whether suspensions were for more than 10 days or were for 10 days or less.
