Sent: Monday, May 02, 2011 8:31 AM To: District Administrators and Open Enrollment Coordinators From: Mary Jo Cleaver, Open Enrollment Consultant Subject: OPAL Data Will Be Frozen May 7 In preparation for making the final open enrollment aid adjustments, OPAL data will be frozen on May 7. After that date, any changes to data that affects payment for the 2010-11 school year must be sent to Merry Larsen or to me. (You may still respond to change of status requests.) Please review your Actively Open Enrolled lists to ensure: --that every student who should be on the list is on the list. --that every student who should not be on the list is not on the list. --that the special education designation is correct. --that the FTE is correct. --if the student has withdrawn from open enrollment, that the date of withdrawal and days of OE are on the Actively Open Enrolled list. --be sure you respond promptly to any change of status requests. The Actively Open Enrolled list is the list of students open enrolled into or out of your district in the 2010-11 school year. OPAL allows this list to always be up-to-date and for you to have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips. However, OPAL is only as accurate as the information which is entered (or not entered). Please be sure that all information on the Actively Open Enrolled list is up-to-date. The per student aid transfer amount in OPAL reflects the final 2010-11 OE aid transfer amount ($6,665). Therefore, to the extent that your data are correct, you have the actual positive and negative open enrollment aid transfers that will applied to your June state aid payment. If you have any questions, please contact us. I am still working on tuition waivers. Please be sure you return all tuition waiver information and respond to all outstanding tuition waiver questions no later than Friday. Please contact me or Merry Larsen (merry.larsen@dpi.wi.gov, 608-266-2146) if you have any questions.
