Subject:  Save the Date for Open Enrollment Workshops –  ***West Salem Site Added***
 
Open Enrollment Workshops have been scheduled for the following dates and locations.   The 
cost will be $15 for the first participant from a district and $10 for additional participants from 
the district.

All workshops will have a morning session from 8:30 to 11:30 and an afternoon session from 
12:30 to 4:00.  
 
The morning session will be Hands-On OPAL.   Participants will be required to bring a laptop 
with wireless capability.   We will enter and submit an open enrollment application as if we 
were parents.  We will log into an OPAL test site and go through application processing, 3rd 
Friday and 2nd Friday processing, changes of status and aid payment calculation.  This session is 
for anyone who works with OPAL, regardless of level of experience. 
 
The afternoon session will cover making space decisions, undue financial burden decisions and 
defending a decision on appeal.  The goal is to ensure that districts know what is required in 
making these decision and understand how to respond to an appeal.  It is strongly 
recommended that those in a district who are responsible for making these decisions and/or 
responding to an appeal attend this session.

November 8 – Madison, MATC Truax Campus
 
November 10 – Baraboo, UW Baraboo
 
November 10 – Madison, Virtual Charter Schools only
 
November 11 – Fennimore, Southwest Technical College
 
November 12 – Wausau/Rothschild, Grand Lodge at Stoney Creek
 
November 15 – Chippewa Falls, CESA 10
 
November 16 – Hayward, Comfort Suites
 
November 17 – Laona,  Laona School District
 
November 17 – Janesville, Blackhawk Technical College
 
November 30 – West Salem, CESA 4
