Subject:  REMINDER - Getting Ready for Open Enrollment Aid Adjustments
 
 
In about three weeks, we will be freezing current year information in OPAL in preparation for making the final state 
aid adjustments.   We will notify you of the specific date about a week before.  
 
Please review your Actively Open Enrolled lists to ensure:
 
--that every student who should be on the list is on the list.  
--that every student who should not be on the list is not on the list. 
--that the special education designation is correct.  
--that the FTE is correct.
--if the student has withdrawn from open enrollment, that the date of withdrawal and days of OE are on the 
Actively Open Enrolled list.  
--be sure you respond promptly to any change of status requests.  
 
The Actively Open Enrolled list is the list of students open enrolled into or out of your district in the 2009-10 school 
year.   This is comparable to the lists that Scott used to send you for verification of open enrolled students.  OPAL 
allows this list to always be up-to-date and for you to have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips.  
However, OPAL is only as accurate as the information which is entered (or not entered).   Please be sure that all 
information on the Actively Open Enrolled list is up-to-date.  
 
You will notice that the per student aid transfer amount in OPAL now reflects the final 2009-10 OE aid transfer 
amount ($6,498).  Therefore, to the extent that your data are correct, you have the actual positive and negative 
open enrollment aid transfers that will applied to your June state aid payment.  If you have any questions, please 
contact us.  
 
Early next week, we will also be sending additional year tuition waiver lists for verification/correction.  Please send 
(via email, fax or snail mail) all changes for 2009-10 AYTWs (that you have not already sent) as soon as possible.  
We have received a number of changes since the last lists were sent, so it will be important to review those as well.   
Once you receive those lists, please return them as soon as possible, but by April 26.
