SUBJECT – The Data Entry Page in OPAL Is Now Working
 
 
The data entry page in OPAL is now working.  To enter an application, sign into OPAL and go the 
Applications Tab.  From the Transfers In page, click on Add New App.   Enter the information.   Be sure 
to Save.  
 
There are almost no edits in the Data Entry page.  This is to allow you to enter an application for which 
the parent may not have provided all the information.  However, this means there are no edits to catch 
potential errors in your data entry or things that don’t make sense from the paper application.  Please be 
aware of this as you enter applications and try to resolve issues as soon as possible. 
 
Many parents seem to believe that they must submit both paper and online applications.   Please be sure 
to check before entering a paper application, so that the same application is not entered twice.   
(Deleting applications is time consuming and a pain.)
 
Thanks for your patience as we got through the first, very busy, day.  While we had glitches, they were 
minor and did not close down the application or keep most parents from easily completing it.
