Letter January 30, 2007- 2007-2008 Revenue Limit Transfer of Service Exemption RequestsDate: January 30, 2007 To: School District Administrators From: David Carlson, Director School Financial Services Team Re: 2007-2008 Revenue Limit Transfer of Service Exemption Requests-Due July 2, 2007 The School Financial Services Team (SFS) is developing an internet based reporting format for Revenue Limit Transfer of Service Exemption requests and anticipate that it may be ready in March. If that reporting application becomes a reality, districts will have the option of submitting requests online. If districts wish to use the online report format, it is suggested that districts hold off contacting the previous districts for the necessary verification, when required, until March. However, in the event this online option is not available, it is important for districts to be prepared to complete the required paperwork and obtain the required signatures for verification before the July 2 deadline date. More information concerning the availability of an online report will be provided during the next few months. As usual, in-state, out-of-state, and other government requests will need to be received in our office during the month of June and by the due date. Since July 1 falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is acceptable. It is still required to submit all requests at one time. There is a separate Transfer of Service (TOS) form available for special education students and for limited English proficient students. Detailed instructions and the forms required to request such exemptions are available under Transfer of Service on the left hand scan bar on the team's website or directly at http://dpi.wi.gov/sfs/transerv.html. Most districts have identified their TOS contact on the district contact page for the TOS program. Districts can change their listed contact by going to the Reporting Portal located at the School Financial Services Team web page. Navigate to your school district and click on "District Contacts." Complete the information. Other districts will then be able to use this contact page to determine your district's TOS contact. Contact Brad Adams by e-mail at bradley.adams@dpi.wi.gov or by telephone at (608) 267-3752 should you have questions. dgd
