Revised Final 2004-2005 Revenue Limit Calculation

Wisconsin Act 25 modified the carryover provision of the revenue limit calculation retroactive to the 2004-2005 revenue limit calculation. The specific statutes that have been modified are 121.91 (4)(d), 121.91 (4)(dg) and 121.91 (4)(dr) Wis. Stats. Districts that had under levied in the 2003-2004 school year were allowed to carry forward seventy five percent of their recurring revenue limit authority in the calculation of the 2004-2005 revenue limit calculation. Districts as a result of Act 25 are now allowed to carryover one hundred percent in the 2004-2005 revenue limit.

The School Financial Services team has recalculated all districts 2004-2005 final revenue limit reflecting the one hundred percent carryover provision. Enclosed is your district's revised final calculation. It is also posted under "Worksheets (DPI Printed)" on the left hand scan bar and under "Late Breaking Information." Although most districts will see no change from the earlier final calculation, a number of districts were affected by the state budget change.

Note that the Excel 2005-2006 blank revenue limit worksheet located under "Worksheets (Executable)" on the scan bar has been modified to reflect the change of 100% carryover.

2005 Wisconsin Act 25

The Policy and Budget Team has created a state budget summary of Act 25. This document references the revenue limit change discussed in the preceding section but also the other education related changes. It is located on the Policy and Budget team website and directly at dpi.wi.us/pb/05act25.html. Districts are encouraged to review this document.
