Instructions For PI-1505AC Aid Certification Reporting

Note: The program opens for district data entry on July 12, 2004. These instructions should be used after that date.

Introduction: The School Financial Services Team has created a "reporting portal" through which districts will access all required School Financial Service Team reports. These instructions are designed to guide district staff to the PI 1505AC-Aid Certification Report program.

  1. At the School Financial Services team web page, dpi.wi.us/sfs/index.html, select the link, "School Finance Reporting Portal."
  2. Select your school district. You will then see your "district home" page for reporting.
  3. There are two ways to go to the PI 1505AC-Aid Certification Report.
    • The first way is to select the link, "Status and Deadlines." See step number 4 below.
    • The second way is to select the "Financial Data Home." See step number 5 below.
    • Either method is acceptable.
  4. Select the "Status and Deadlines" link.
    • Scroll down and select the "FY04-05 Aid Certification (PI-1505AC)" link. This will take you to the Aid Certification Report page.
    • On the Aid Certification Report page select the link, "2004-2005". You will be prompted for your user id and password.
    • Enter your id and password and you will be taken to the "FY2004-05 Aid Certification (PI 1505AC)" screen. You are ready to begin.
  5. Select the link, "Financial Data Home."
    • Select the link, "Aid Certification (PI 1505AC, Internet)". This will take you to the Aid Certification Report page.
    • On the Aid Certification Report page select the link, "2004-2005". You will be prompted for your user id and password.
    • Enter your id and password and you will be taken to the "FY 2004-05 aid Certification (PI 1505AC)" screen. You are ready to begin.

Updates to the PI 1505-AC

The 2004-2005 1505AC has been updated. Accounts have been updated to match the Wisconsin Uniform Financial Accounting Requirements (WUFAR), and the editing and auditing of reports has been automated within the program. Please see the list below for a review of some of the most important features.

  1. Edits, such as matching the expected value on record at DPI for particular accounts, are built into the program. Districts may only submit the report if all accounts match the amounts on record at DPI.
  2. Quick audit reports are now embedded within the program. Districts will review and pass through the quick audit reports prior to report submittal. In prior years, the quick audit reports were manually reviewed by both the district and the school financial services team after report submittal.
  3. Districts who have completed the full SAFR Annual Report (PI 1505) may "pre-fill" the data in the 1505AC by clicking on a link in the full SAFR Annual Report. Data will not have to be entered twice.

Timeline for the 1505AC

  1. The program opens for district data entry on July 1, 2005.
  2. The district and its auditor should come to an agreement on the aid certification data to be entered.
  3. Upon district submission of the 1505AC, DPI will review the District's submitted 1505AC data and send an email notification of the report acceptance to both the district and the auditor. The auditor may then complete the PI 1506AC.
  4. Districts may amend the 1505AC data until such time that the auditor begins the 1506AC or August 26th, whichever is first. Any amendments to the data must then be made via the auditor in the 1506AC. Once the auditor has submitted the PI 1506AC, the SFS team will review the data and approve for use in the October 15 certification. After approval, the auditor may then submit the hard copy of the PI 1506AC signature and attestation pages.
  5. The report is due no later than August 26, 2005.
