5. Thai students, teachers visit Wisconsin schools

Twenty-five students and five teachers from Thailand arrived in Wisconsin on Friday, April 11. They will spend more than 2 weeks staying with host families and attending local schools.

The cultural exchange is a result of a 2005 agreement signed by State Superintendent Burmaster and the Thai Ministry of Education.

This year's twenty-five students and five teachers have broken into groups, with five students and one teacher staying in each of the following school districts:

This is the second year Thai students have visited Wisconsin. Groups of Thai education leaders have also come to the state as part of the agreement.

School districts interested in hosting students and teachers from Thailand in future exchanges should contact Gerhard Fischer at the DPI, 608-267-9265.
