6. Professional Standards Council appointments

The Wisconsin State Senate has confirmed new appointees to the Professional Standards Council.

The Professional Standards Council assists the State Superintendent in improving educator preparation, licensure, and regulation. The council contributed to the language of PI 34, the Wisconsin Quality Educator Initiative, and is currently active in recommending and developing strategies for information dissemination regarding PI 34 implementation.

The new appointees are:

• Stephanie Armstrong, Westside Elementary School, Sun Prairie (Teacher)
• Jeffrey Barnett, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (Higher Education)
• Lisa Benz, Ellsworth Middle School (Teacher)
• Frances Bohon, Marshfield (School Board Member)
• Ann Cattau, Neenah School District (Pupil Services)
• Ryan Champeau, Waukesha North High School (School Administration)
• John Gaier, Neillsville School District (School Administration)
• Paula Hase, Wausau West High School (Teacher)
• James Juergensen, Concordia University-Wisconsin (Higher Education)
• Russ Kaeske, Hales Corners (School Board)
• Pat Lewno, Racine (Parent Representative)
• Thomas Mulligan, Nathan Hale High School, West Allis (Teacher) (Senate confirmation pending)
• Jamie Lynn Oliver, Ettrick (Student Representative)
• Terry Schoessow, Wilson School, Mequon (Teacher)
• Dwight Watson, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (Higher Education) (Senate confirmation pending)
