5. New "Badger Biographies" availableWisconsin Historical Society Press has released two new additions to its Badger Biography Series for readers age seven to twelve. Mountain Wolf Woman: A Ho-Chunk Girlhood describes what life was like for an Indian girl born in 1884. With the changing seasons as a backdrop, author Diane Holliday follows Mountain Wolf Woman and her family on their movements in and around Wisconsin, including a forced removal to Nebraska. The book is drawn from Mountain Wolf Woman's own autobiography as told to her niece, anthropologist Nancy Lurie. In Harley and the Davidsons: Motorcycle Legends, Pete Barnes tells the story of four young inventors who refused to give up on their unusual dream: to create the best motorized bicycle in America. Bill Harley and the Davidson brothers—Arthur, William, and Walter—set up shop in a backyard in the early twentieth century, and achieved breathtaking business success in less than a decade.
