National Library Week is April 2-8

The theme for National Library Week 2006 is Change your world @ your library. National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians, and library workers to their schools, campuses, and communities.

“National Library Week is the perfect time to come in and explore how libraries can help you change your world,” said State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster. “Libraries have always been places of opportunity, and one of the best values in the community. The librarians and staff in Wisconsin libraries are there to help you utilize books and magazines, databases, and free Internet access promoting earning and achievement of your goals.”

National Library Week 2006 marks the sixth year of The Campaign for America’s Libraries, a multi-year public education campaign sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country to educate people about the value of libraries in the twenty-first century. More than 20,000 libraries in all 50 states are involved in the Campaign for America’s Libraries.
