Technology-enhanced reading, writing workshop planned

The UW-Madison School of Education will present a workshop on Reading, Writing, and Technology-rich Learning for the K-12 Curriculum on February 21 at the Pyle Center in Madison. Participants will learn to integrate standards-based, technology-enhanced reading and writing experiences into the curriculum; incorporate authentic, online primary source materials; and connect reading with web-based resources and activities including literature circles, collaborative projects, and blogs.

Participants also will explore practical strategies to address essential skills, differentiate instruction to meet individual needs, and promote a love of learning. The instructor for this workshop is Annette Lamb, Ph.D. Lamb has been a school library media specialist, computer teacher, and professor of education and library science. She writes, speaks, and conducts professional development workshops throughout North America, in addition to teaching online graduate courses for librarians and educators at Indiana University-Indianapolis.

The workshop is intended for K-12 teachers, technology coordinators, curriculum coordinators, library media specialists, and directors of instruction. Teacher Standards will be addressed for grades 3, 4, and 7. To register, see https://secure.uwex.edu/semtek/register/reg_session_info.cfm?sessionid=W06A8617210029&groupid=AED.
