Outdoor Education Expo invites students

The Wisconsin Outdoor Education Expo, organized by the Wisconsin Outdoors Alliance Foundation, will introduce Wisconsin fourth and fifth grade students to the outdoors and teach them about wildlife and habitat. Teachers are invited to schedule their classes for the free May 19-20 event by filling out a registration form, available at http://www.wisexpo.com/SchoolRegestrationForm.pdf, and sending it to the Expo planning office. The event will be held at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam.

The expo will be organized into seven separate “camps” where students and their families can learn and participate in outdoor activities. The camps will feature hands-on demonstrations and information on archery, sporting dogs, camping, fishing, firearm safety, outdoor heritage, and a wildlife trail.

Events will be linked to academic subjects including science, math, history, and physical education. The Expo also will teach outdoor skills, encourage ethical behavior, and communicate Wisconsin’s hunting, fishing, and conservation heritage, focusing on hands-on activities and participation to introduce students and families to wildlife-related outdoor skills, natural resources, and conservation. More information is available at http://www.wisexpo.com/.
