1. On the road

On Tuesday, January 15, State Superintendent Elizabeth Burmaster welcomed participants to the New Wisconsin Promise Conference on closing the achievement gap, held in Madison. She then attended many of the sessions throughout the conference, which continued through the following day. Snapshots of the opening event are posted in the State Superintendent's Photo Gallery.

Later that day, the state superintendent participated in a meeting of the Greater Milwaukee Committee Accountability and Support Group. The group discussed documentation and communication strategies in support of plans to improve student achievement in Milwaukee Public Schools.
