Library Announces New Regional Librarian
The Wisconsin Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped proudly introduces their new Regional Librarian, Meredith Wittmann. You may have met Meredith during one of her many excursions as our Outreach Librarian. She is very excited about her new position and the opportunity to continue working in such a great department.

Best described as energetic, vivacious, creative and caring, Meredith is always interested in new ideas, making her eager to get the digital transition underway. Her other plans include expanding efforts to spread the word about the library, and to broaden our collection, beginning with additional audio described movies. When the library gets new books by some of her favorite authors like John Irving, Richard Russo and Mary Higgins Clark, Meredith's glee is hardly concealed.

Meredith is eager to meet as many library users as possible and encourages them to call or email her.

Audubon Magazine Now Available
Here at the Wisconsin Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped we have a new magazine on recorded cassette that you can subscribe to for free! Audubon Magazine discusses current events related to birds and their habitat, but also discusses broader global topics like conservation and preservation of the environment as well. This magazine is quite interesting, even if you don't care for birds!

To get your free subscription to Audubon (or any of the many other magazines that we offer on cassette) call, email, or write your friends here at the Wisconsin Regional Library and we'll get you set up right away!

Suggested Reading - Hot Romance Writers

Louis Braille Exhibit
Louis Braille was born on January 4, 1809 and the Wisconsin Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped prepared a bicentennial exhibit about his life and the role of Braille in the lives of blind people. The exhibit was displayed in the Milwaukee Public Library Central Library Building and will travel to several MPL branch libraries. Almost sixty blind children participated in three tours of the exhibit and heard a short talk about the life of Louis Braille.
