State-level Interlibrary Loan Contracts and AgreementsThe Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning provides funding for paying the costs incurred for interlibrary loan transactions through WiLS (to access the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus libraries and the Wisconsin Historical Society) and Milwaukee Public Library. The funding for these two contracts suffered substantial cuts in 2003 and the Division screens requests for appropriateness and availability and limits the number of requests that can be sent to each of these contracts. The methods and practices may vary from time to time, but the following is a general summary of how these referrals will work for 2005 and 2006. WiLS contract: Funding level for 2005/2006 ($44,600) and 2006/2007 ($43,140). Requirements: Requests must be received by the Reference and Loan Library via WISCATILL (VDX) Priorities for referral to WiLS:
Milwaukee Public Library contract: Funding level for 2005/2006 ($36,000) and 2006/2007 ($37,500) Requirements: Requests must be received by the Reference and Loan Library via WISCATILL (VDX) Priorities for referral to Milwaukee Public Library:
MINITEX agreement: The Division also manages request traffic to MINITEX which serves as a clearinghouse for requests that go to libraries in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. While no funding is involved, the two agencies have had a long-standing reciprocal borrowing/lending relationship. Requirements: Requests must be received by the Reference and Loan Library and MINITEX via WISCATILL (VDX) Priorities for referral to MINITEX:
