WSN Locator System: Important Dates


TASKS DATES
TDS Contract Starts. 11/3/03
TDS Designs & Develops WSLS.
WSLS will be a Web-based application and will provide options for submitting and updating data: xml/csv file uploads and on-line data entry.
11/17/03 - 4/1/04
TDS Pilots WSLS with Districts/Vendors.
Districts and vendors pilot new WSLS transaction types as they become available. TDS certifies vendors in the use of batch file transactions.
4/1/04 - (ongoing)
TDS Trains Districts in the Use of WSLS
TDS and DPI provide live WisLine Web and on-site training sessions for local staff in the use of WSLS.
5/17/04 - 6/30/04
Districts Submit Initial File. WSLS Assigns WSNs.
Districts submit initial file that includes 2003-04 public school students. WSLS assigns students WSNs.
5/20/04 - 7/1/04
Districts Save 2003-04 Data with WSNs.
Districts download and store WSNs and demographic data for 2003-04 students. These data will be required by fall 2004 ISES collection.
5/20/04 - 7/1/04
TDS Develops and Implements WSLS Enhancements.
Exit/update file transactions, mass student transfers, historical record insertions are added to WSLS.
6/04 - 11/04
TDS Provides On-site DPI Post-implementation Support. 8/2/04 - 1/14/05
TDS Provides Telephone Support.
8/2/04 - 1/13/06
Districts Keep WSLS Data Current for 2004-05 and Beyond.
Districts process school exits, updates, and school enrollment changes.
9/04 - (ongoing)
WSLS Generates Fall 2004 Enrollment Estimates.
Estimates will be based on school enrollment and exit dates in WSLS and will be used until final ISES 3rd Friday September 2004 enrollment figures are available.
11/04
ISES Uses WSLS Data.
WSNs and certain other 2003-04 and 2004-05 data will be used by the fall 2004 ISES for 2003-04 School Performance Report/ESEA Report Card dropout and high school completion reporting purposes and Third Friday September Enrollment 2004 reporting purposes. WSLS data will continue to be used by ISES in future years and for other reporting purposes.
12/04 - 3/05
