New WSLS/ISES Users GuideWisconsin Student Number Locator System (WSLS)The WSLS is used (1) to assign new Wisconsin Student Numbers (WSNs) to students entering Wisconsin Public Schools, (2) to help ensure that the WSNs stay with students as they move from school to school and district to district, (3) to update WSLS data such as when students exit a school or when data used for matching change (e.g. legal name, guardian), and (4) to correct errors in WSLS birthdates, spellings, etc... WSLS FAQs: How do I get access to the WSLS? Where can I locate the WSLS training material? How do I transfer my student information from my local SIS (student information system) into the WSLS? How do I request a WSN for a newly enrolled student manually? Where can I locate the Data Elements definitions? (See Data Elements) How do I exit my graduating seniors manually? How do I handle an Exit Confirmation Request? Individual Student Enrollment System (ISES) Year End, 3rd Friday of September & Child CountThe ISES includes student demographic and outcome data needed to meet the ESEA report card requirements at the state, district, and school levels. The Individual Student Enrollment System (ISES) requires that schools and/or districts submit data on students enrolled during the previous school year, students enrolled on the Third Friday of September of the current year, students with disabilities enrolled on October First of the current year, and students removed under disciplinary action. Districts and schools have two options for providing ISES data: file upload or on-line data entry. A minimum amount of data is required for successful file upload. Much of the additional data marked as optional for file upload will be required prior to locking data. These additional data can be submitted by file upload, on-line data entry, or some combination of the two. Certain data when left blank will be generated by ISES based on other ISES or WSLS data.
