ISES Due Date Extension

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL DISTRICT STAFF WORKING IN WSLS or ISES

EXTENSION FOR INITIAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE

In response to the heavy traffic in ISES in the past week, the number of districts with high numbers of errors, and in response to requests for extensions by a number of school districts, the deadline for the ISES Initial Submission Period has been extended until 8 AM on Tuesday Oct 31, 2006. All districts should be locked prior to the end of the Initial Submission Period.

STATEWIDE VALIDATION

On Oct 31, 2006, 8 AM, ISES will close for statewide validation. ISES will reopen approximately one week later when the Review and Revision Period begins.

WSAS ROSTER FILE #2

At 8 AM on Oct 31, 2006, DPI will generate the WSAS roster file #2. The file will include all students in WSLS with an enroll date on or before October 31 and no exit date if, based on available ISES/WSLS data, the student appears to be in a WSAS testing grade. WSAS testing contractor, CTB, will use this file to generate a second set of testing labels for students not included in WSAS label shipment #1. If you have students who recently enrolled, or who for whatever reason were not, according to WSLS, in enrollment status in early October, then please make sure WSLS is up to date prior to October 31. If a student with the same WSN had a label in shipment #1 for your district or any other district, then the student will not have a label in shipment #2. Local hand coding is required for students without labels. Hand coding is both time consuming and more likely to result in data errors.

ISES REVIEW AND REVISION PERIOD

The ISES Review and Revision period will be from 8 AM on Tuesday, Nov 7, 2006 to 4 PM Wednesday Nov 22, 2006. This period is for review of the progress and summary reports and error correction. It is not intended for initial data submission. No corrections to 2005-06 year end records or 2006-07 count date records will be accepted after November 22 which is the ISES Lock Down date. It is very important that current ISES collection closes on November 22 in order to facilitate use of ISES data for required purposes this year. Please plan accordingly.

INDIVIDUAL STUDENT RECORD SCREEN - KNOWN ISSUE

Intermittently, users are encountering missing SAVE icons from the Individual Student Record screens. We believe this issue is related to the high level of traffic in the ISES and we are working on a solution. If you experience this issue, we suggest that you return to the Student Record List without using the NEXT and PREVIOUS icons and select the student again. Use of the NEXT and PREVIOUS icons when the SAVE icon is missing has resulted in loss of data for the selected record.
