ISES October 1, 2008 Child Count
PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL DISTRICT STAFF WORKING IN WSLS or ISES State statute requires the count date for enrollment data to be the third Friday in September. However, to meet requirements of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) annual report required by section 618 of the Act and 34 CFR 300.640, the State must count and report the number of children with disabilities receiving special education and related services on a date between October 1 and December 1. Wisconsin has chosen October 1 as its count date. For the 2008-09 school year, districts will continue to submit via file upload the changes which occurred after 9/19/2008 and on or before 10/1/2008 for those students:
By October 16, 2008, all districts must either submit a file of student data or acknowledge via the on-line application that no changes occured between the Third Friday of September and October 1. For more information regarding the required student data and the file upload process, refer to the ISES October 1 Supplement for Child Count. REMINDER: Do you have the WSLS up to date for all student transfers, new students and student exits up to the Third Friday of September? If not, please focus on completing this task by September 28th.
Submit questions, comments, and suggestions about the WSLS or ISES to dpistats@dpi.wi.gov or call 1-800-507-5744. Submit questions regarding the ESEA Report Card Requirements to dpieseadata@dpi.wi.gov. For help with this page contact the DPI Helpdesk Expert Last updated on 9/26/2008 7:27:58 AM |
