WSLS / ISES Update - October 5 and 6 Deadlines

DATE: September 15, 2008 (Email)
TO: WSLS/ISES Local and Assistant Administrators
FROM: WSLS/ISES Help Desk
SUBJECT: WSLS / ISES Update - October 5 and 6 Deadlines

WSAS ROSTER FILE #1

Reminder. On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5 at 4PM the WSLS and ISES Count Date & Year End applications will CLOSE for creation of the WSAS roster file #1 that will be used to generate testing labels. WSLS must be current and accurate for the WSAS Testing Labels to be accurate. WSLS will be the primary source of data for the WSAS labels. Out of date or invalid school enrollment periods in WSLS could result in label delivery to the wrong district or school or missing labels. Districts should focus on bringing WSLS up-to-date by September 28, 2008.

ISES Count Date & Year End data will also be used, if available, and will provide additional valuable information for your District Assessment Coordinator (DAC). September ISES Count Date data need not contain all the ISES data elements that are required for final ISES lock. The WSAS testing contractor will receive a more complete and up to date WSAS Roster file from DPI after final ISES lock in November. However, including current grade level placements is strongly recommended. Primary disability and English language proficiency codes might also be locally useful and will appear on the labels if these data are available in ISES.

For more information, see WSLS, ISES, and WSAS

DISCIPLINE INITIAL SUBMISSION PERIOD DEADLINE

Reminder. The Discipline Initial Submission Period will end on MONDAY, OCTOBER 6, at 4 PM. All districts should be locked prior to the end of the Initial Submission Period.

Immediately following the Initial Submission Period, Discipline data will be reviewed by DPI staff. The Discipline application will not close. During the three week Discipline Review and Revision Period, October 7 to 24, districts will be contacted to review and correct questionable data.

WSLS EXIT REQUEST

Prompt response in WSLS Exit Requests from other Wisconsin school districts is particularly important this time of year as district finalize enrollment and prepare for the WSAS Roster.
