ISES Open and Fall Training Available
PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL DISTRICT STAFF WORKING IN WSLS or ISES ISES COUNT DATE/YEAR END (CD/YE) FALL 2007 COLLECTION IS OPEN
The ISES Web Application is currently open for submission of 2006-07 year end records and 2007-08 count date records. We ask that you carefully review the Primary and Secondary Contacts listed in both the ISES and WSLS. These individuals receive automated notifications from the WSLS and are presented to other school districts as the main point of contact for your district for WSLS and ISES. FALL 2007 ISES ENHANCEMENT TRAINING The Department of Public Instruction will hold ISES enhancement training sessions at four of the twelve CESAs in August/September. This training is intended for local staff responsible for data entry and data review in the ISES. You may register on the following URL: http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isessupprt.html. A prequisite to attending the ISES enhancement training session for someone new to ISES would be review the media site session on the above URL for "Summer 2007 Getting Started with the ISES Training" (see paragraph below for more details). If you are not able to attend one of the ISES enhancement training sessions, there is also a link available for a taped version of the session. ISES ON-LINE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY - 'SUMMER 2007 GETTING STARTED WITH THE ISES' An on-line training session is available covering the basic functions of the ISES to introduce first-time users and to refresh experienced users. The session will provide a brief background of WSLS and ISES, an overview of data entry and validation in the ISES and the steps to finalize and submit data to DPI. The on-line training session is presented in three recorded segments. The presentation and handout is available at http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isessupprt.html. WSLS ON-LINE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY - 'JUNE 2007 AN INTRODUCTION TO WSLS' An on-line training session is available covering the basic functions of the WSLS to introduce first-time users and to refresh experienced users. The session will provide a brief background of WSLS, steps to use manual entry or file uploads for exiting and enrolling (assigning WSNs) students. The presentation and handout is available at http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/wsnsupport.html. REMINDER - HELPDESK EXPERT TOOL We have implemented the HelpDesk Expert Tool to aide in providing support for our web applications, http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/helptool.html. We encourage use of the on-line HelpDesk Expert Tool in place of emails to dpistats and telephone calls. Our hope is the tool will provide better tracking of issues and problems as well as where we need to provide better training to the districts.
