PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL DISTRICT STAFF WORKING IN WSLS AND ISES

ISES COLLECTION IS NOW OPEN

The ISES Web Applications are now open for submission of 2008-09 Discipline incidents, 2008-09 Year End records, 2009-2010 3rd Friday September Count Date records and 2009-2010 October 1 Child Count records. We encourage districts to work on the Year End records and Discipline incidents now and that the 3rd Friday September Count Date records and October 1 Child Count should be worked on in September/October. We ask that you carefully review the Primary and Secondary Contacts listed under the District/School Preferences in both the ISES and WSLS. These individuals receive automated notifications from the WSLS and are presented to other school districts as the main point of contact for your district for the WSLS and ISES.

ISES TIMELINE

The submission deadlines for Discipline, 3rd Friday September Count Date/Year End and Child Count have now been posted on the following URL ,http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isesdates.html To meet federal and state reporting requirements in a timely manner DPI and Districts need to work together in order to achieve a September close of the Initial Submission Period for the ISES Discipline data collection, an October close of the Initial Submission Period for ISES CD/YE and ISES Child Count data collections. FINAL ISES DISCIPLINE WILL BE DUE IN OCTOBER. FINAL ISES COUNT DATE/YEAR END AND ISES CHILD COUNT WILL BE DUE IN NOVEMBER.

NEW URLs

There are new URLs for the WSLS and the ISES log-in screens. If you have these log-in screens bookmarked the links will no longer work. If you had bookmarked the log-in screens in the past we do not recommend that you bookmark the new log-in screens but rather bookmark the application information pages,http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/wslsapp.html and http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isesapp.html

TRAINING

ISES Training materials and web tutorials are available at http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isessupprt.html WSLS Training materials and web tutorials are available at http://www.dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/wsnsupport.html If you are a Macintosh user and are experiencing problems with Media Site web casts, please download the feature called Silverlight available with the new 4.3 version of Media site. Open the web cast and click on the "Help" button in the upper right hand corner above the slides. A dialog box will be displayed. Select the option on the left side titled "Viewing on a Mac" and follow the instructions to install the Silverlight feature.

REMINDER - HELP DESK EXPERT TOOL

We have implemented the Help Desk Expert Tool to aide in providing support for our web applications,http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/helptool.html. We encourage use of the on-line Help Desk Expert Tool in place of emails to dpistats and telephone calls. Our hope is that the tool will provide better tracking of issues and problems as well as where we need to provide better training to the districts.

DPI OFFICE SCHEDULE

The DPI offices will be closed July 24th. The Helpdesk will not be available on August 7th.
