ISES Open for Year End Records
ISES COLLECTION IS OPEN FOR SUBMISSION OF YEAR END 2007-08 RECORDS The ISES Web Application is currently open for submission of 2007-08 Year End records. Collection of 2007-08 Discipline records will begin in mid-July. Preparation for 2008-09 Count Date and October 1 Supplemental records may begin, but submission of such records in not expected until September. ISES TIMELINE The submission deadlines for ISES Year End, Discipline, Count Date and October 1 Supplemental records are posted, http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isesdates.html. To meet federal and state reporting requirements in a timely manner, DPI and Districts need to work together to achieve an October close of the Initial Submission Period for both the ISES Discipline and ISES CD/YE data collections. FINAL ISES DISCIPLINE WILL BE DUE IN OCTOBER AND FINAL ISES COUNT DATE / YEAR END WILL BE DUE IN NOVEMBER. Because of these earlier due dates, we are asking districts to plan accordingly for resource needs this fall. ISES/WSLS CONTACT INFORMATION We ask that you carefully review the Primary and Secondary Contacts listed in both the ISES and WSLS. It is extremely important that these contacts be accurate and up-to-date, as these individuals receive automated notifications from the WSLS and are presented to other school districts as the main point of contact for your district for WSLS and ISES. WSLS / ISES PHONE CONFERENCES DPI will conduct Phone Conferences to discuss WSLS and ISES topics. These conferences, held every other week in the summer and weekly in the fall, will allow district, school and vendor staff to ask questions of DPI Help Desk staff and other districts. For dates and instructions on joining the conference, refer to http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/eseaphconf.html. ON-LINE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES - 'SPRING 2008 ISES TRAINING' AND 'SPRING 2008 WSLS TRAINING' A recorded version of the spring ISES training session is available online. This session covers the basic functions of the ISES to introduce first-time users and to refresh experienced users. The session will provide a brief background of WSLS and ISES, an overview of data entry and validation in the ISES and the steps to finalize and submit data to DPI. The on-line training session is presented in three recorded segments. The presentation and handout are available at http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isessupprt.html. WSLS training is also available online. This training covers the basic functions of the WSLS. The session will provide a brief background of WSLS, steps to use manual entry or file uploads for exiting and enrolling (assigning WSNs) students. The presentation and handout are available at http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/wsnsupport.html.
If you are a Macintosh user and are experiencing problems with Media Site web casts, please download the feature called Silverlight available with the new 4.3 version of Media site. Open the web cast and click on the "Help" button in the upper right hand corner above the slides. A dialog box will be displayed. Select the option on the left side titled "Viewing on a Mac" and follow the instructions to install the Silverlight feature. WSLS / ISES CORRESPONDENCE LISTSERV A WSLS / ISES Correspondence Listserv has been created to allow district staff working within the applications but not identified as the WSLS / ISES Local or Assistant Administrator to receive general correspondence from the WSLS / ISES Help Desk. Individuals interested in joining this listserv should contact the WSLS / ISES Help Desk. REMINDER - HELPDESK EXPERT TOOL We have implemented the HelpDesk Expert Tool to aide in providing support for our web applications, http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/helptool.html. We encourage use of the on-line HelpDesk Expert Tool in place of emails to dpistats or telephone calls. Please do not hesitate to contact the WSLS/ISES helpdesk (using the HelpDesk Expert On-line Tool) if you have questions or concerns: https://helpdesk.dpi.wi.gov/user.html.
