ISES TIMELINE

The ISES Collection will open the earlier part of July. The dates have not yet been finalized. The WSLS/ISES Helpdesk will send an email when the final dates have been determined.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES - 'FALL 2009 ISES TRAINING

Register now, www2.dpi.state.wi.us/workshops/workshop_locations.asp?event=is9, for Fall ISES training sessions to be held throughout the state in August. Certain locations will probably be morning and afternoon sessions. These sessions will be identical, so plan to attend the session which best fits your schedule.

The sessions are intended for district staff responsible for data entry into the WSLS and ISES which will focus on updates along with modifications for the upcoming collection. If new staff will be working with the WSLS and ISES for the 2009-10 school year we strongly suggest that these staff members contact the WSLS/ISES Help Desk to discuss any questions that they may have. New staff is encouraged to attend the Fall training sessions.

If you are a Macintosh user and are experiencing problems with Media Site web casts, please download the feature called Silverlight available with the new 4.3 version of Media site. Open the web cast and click on the "Help" button in the upper right hand corner above the slides. A dialog box will be displayed. Select the option on the left side titled "Viewing on a Mac" and follow the instructions to install the Silverlight feature.

INTERFACE SPECIFICATIONS

The interface specifications have been posted, http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/isesspec.html, for 3rd Friday of September, Year End, Child Count and Discipline.

WSLS/ISES CORRESPONDENCE LISTSERV

A WSLS/ISES Correspondence Listserv has been created to allow district staff working within the applications but not identified as the WSLS/ISES Local Administrator or Assistant Administrator to receive general correspondence from the WSLS/ISES Help Desk. Individuals interested in joining this listserv should contact the WSLS/ISES Help Desk.

REMINDER - HELP DESK EXPERT TOOL

We have implemented the Help Desk Expert Tool to aide in providing support for our web applications,http://dpi.wi.gov/lbstat/helptool.html. We encourage use of the on-line Help Desk Expert Tool in place of emails to dpistats and telephone calls. Our hope is that the tool will provide better tracking of issues and problems as well as where we need to provide better training to the districts.
