DPI Delegated Authority Web Application

Each District Administrator (Superintendent) or his/her appointed WSLS/ISES Administrator can use the Delegated Authority Web application to provide access to the Wisconsin Student Number Locator System (WSLS) or Individual Student Enrollment System (ISES). DPI will provide access to the Delegated Authority Web Application upon request. To initiate this request, the District Superintendent must first obtain a Wisconsin User ID and send this ID via email to dpistats@dpi.wi.gov. Email messages should include the Superintendent's name, District name, and Wisconsin User ID and come from the Superintendent's email account. If at any time, the District Superintendent should leave the district or the position, the new District Superintendent should initiate a new request for access to the Delegated Authority Web Application.

NOTE: District staff must be individually authorized to access certain DPI Web applications including the WSLS and the ISES. Having a Wisconsin User ID is necessary but does not in itself provide access to these Web applications. For security and privacy reasons, access must be specifically authorized by your District Administrator (Superintendent) on behalf of your school board or by the Superintendent's appointed WSLS/ISES Administrator. The Delegated Authority Web application is used to record that authorization.

Updating WAMS Information

If you remember or brought your WAMS information with you from your previous district, you will minimally need to update your email address in WAMS. Please go to the website https://on.wisconsin.gov/WAMS/home Shown below are the necessary steps:

1. Scroll down to Profile Management
2. Click on Profile Management
3. Enter your WAMS ID and password
4. Update your email address. If applicable you may update other information in WAMS
5. Click on Submit
6. Once completed go to Granting District Administrator Rights

If you DO NOT remember or brought your WAMS information with you from your previous district, please go to the website https://on.wisconsin.gov/WAMS/home Shown below are the necessary steps.

1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page
2. Click on Help Wisconsin Support
3. Under Account Information enter:
   • Email Address;
   • Last Name;
   • First Name; and
   • Telephone number
4. Under Application Information enter:
   • Specify Problem
   • If Other is chosen in Specify Problem from the dropdown state the problem in the next field;
   • Under Application type WAMS;
   • Enter the Web Address shown in the example;
   • Type a message description, i.e., Update email address; and
   • Enter Comment, i.e., Please update my email address from [incorrect email address] (incorrect) to [correct email address] (correct).
5. The Department of Administration may contact you via telephone.
6. After this has been completed you will need to do Account Recovery to create a new password.
7. Once completed go to Granting District Administrator Rights

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT DELEGATED AUTHORITY AND WAMS:

1. Actions taken through delegated authority can take time to process. If you have just been granted access to a particular school or district and are not yet able to access that school or district, wait for one hour and try again.
2. Profile Management allows you to change account information, e-mail address, password and other information. The email address associated with the WAMS ID must be valid in order to make modifications to account information. If your email address has changed and you have forgotten your password, go to the following url: https://on.wisconsin.gov, click on the Support Center hyperlink at the very bottom of the page, and complete the form as follows:
   • E-mail address: Email address for the district administrator.
   • Phone Number: Your district phone number.
   • Please Specify Application: Select 'Other'.
   • If "Other" Specify Application: WAMS.
   • Message Description: See Below.
   • Comments: Enter the following or something similar - "Would you please correct the e-mail address for Kathleen.culberson@state.wi.us (incorrect) to Kathleen.Culbertson@dpi.wi.gov (correct)."
   • Click 'Submit'.
