Evaluating States Education Technology Programs


Title II, Part D of No Child Left Behind

Program Description

DPI received the Evaluating State Education Technology Programs grant for a three year period from the United States Department of Education. This grant will enable researchers to evaluate replications of the selected models in three settings (rural, suburban, and urban). The models selected are being funded with ESEA No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D competitive grants.

The models being replicated are:

The goals of this grant program are to:

  1. Evaluate the effectiveness of the models on student achievement and teacher efficacy by randomly assigning schools to experimental groups to use the above models or a control group.

  2. Measure student achievement in multiple ways, including standardized achievement test scores and work sampling.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
No further applications are being accepted. The study is now in progress and will be completed in 2007.
. Amount of Funds Available
Science or social studies middle school teachers in participating schools received free professional development on one of two instructional technology models. One or more laptop computer(s) and/or LCD projector(s) will be given to participating schools.
