Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Parent Page

The Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program provides parents in low-income families with the option to enroll their child in a tutoring program if the child’s school has not made academic progress as defined by the state. The tutoring sessions can take place in the student’s school, another school, a place in the neighborhood like a community center, or in the home. The cost for the tutoring is paid by the school district with federal Title I funds – there is no cost to the family. This option remains available to parents as long as the school their children would normally attend remains identified for improvement.

SES Eligible Schools - To see if the school your child attends is required to offer tutoring services go to the list at this web site: http://dpi.wi.gov/esea/doc/ses_eligible.doc.

SES Tutors - To see the searchable database of State-Approved Organizations that can provide tutoring services go to: http://www2.dpi.state.wi.us/ESEA_SES/ProvSearch.asp (Check with your school district to see which providers are available in your area.)
