Characteristics of Successful Schools
WHAT IS OUR TARGET?This step calls for developing a clear target for improvement. When people clearly understand where they are going and have a good map to get there, the journey becomes an enjoyable and valuable learning experience. It is important to mention again that the target is based on the data used in answering the question, Where are we now? Involving a variety of people in the process of setting targets for success is important. The more people who know the target and take ownership for reaching the target, the better the chances of sustaining the momentum for change and succeeding. Creating a school vision is part of setting school improvement targets. Leadership within schools allows resources to be used to reach the target and to bring people along on the journey. PREVIOUS
