Social Studies - Assessment in Social Studies Education



Wisconsin participated in a 25-state major assessment project. The 4-year, $4 million project funded by the Department of Education produced assessment products for elementary and secondary social studies in civics, economics, geography, and history.

Social Studies Item Bank on CD ROM
Project developed and examined 239 modules of items (1195 in all). CD has released items and secure items that will be released in batches in 2003, 2005, and 2007.

Available now are 118 performances tasks (60 performance tasks with scoring guides 58 without), 36 multiple-choice items, and 24 constructed-response items, across contents and grade levels.
