Green and Healthy Schools![]() Green and Healthy Schools is a web-based, voluntary certification program available to all public and private elementary, middle, and high schools across Wisconsin. The program, a partnership between DPI and DNR, encourages teachers, staff, students, and parents to work together to use the school, its grounds, and the whole community as learning tools to teach, promote, and apply healthy, safe, and environmentally sound practices. Green and Healthy Schools is an integrated program addressing waste reduction and recycling, energy, water, transportation, chemicals, school site and facilities, indoor air quality, mercury, integrated pest management, and community involvement. To find out more about the program and how you can be involved, visit the DNR website or contact Dan Werner, (608) 267-7622, or Victoria Rydberg, (608) 266-0419.
