ChinaThe State of Wisconsin and the Province of Heilongjiang signed an Agreement on the Establishment of Relations of Friendship on October 18, 1982 and have primarily cooperated in commerce and agriculture for many years. The study of Chinese language and culture is of vital importance to broadening the international education opportunities in Wisconsin's schools. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is therefore working on providing a framework for cooperation with schools in Heilongjiang. An exchange of twelve school principals and superintendents in October 2009 and April 2010 will lead to a close working relationship between school administrators in both regions and provide the context for student study projects and exchanges. Please read this informational flyer for more information. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction cooperates with the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators (WASDA), the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA), and The China Exchange Initiative on this project. Follow this link for more information on the Province of Heilongjiang. ![]() China with Heilongjiang (red)
